This season Terry Collins has managed the Mets into the postseason for the first time since 2006. Collins was a bit less successful in his previous managerial position - he managed the Orix Buffaloes in 2007 and the first half of 2008. He went 83-105-5 for Orix before resigning in mid-May of 2008 due to differences of opinion between himself and the team's front office.
