It's not exactly breaking news that Ichiro announced his retirement on Thursday following the Mariners game against the Athletics at the Tokyo Dome that night. I've done a couple posts dedicated to Ichiro in the past - one when he got his 3000th hit in MLB and another when he "retired" last May - and I've shown a lot of his cards over the years. I thought I'd do a quick post showing cards of Ichiro that I'm pretty sure I've never used on the blog before.
It's probably not obvious from the scans but the 1999 BBM "Dream Team" insert is die-cut while the 2000 BBM Diamond Heroes "90's Franchise Player" card is on transparent plastic.
